Barcelona 2009 - No.6 Xavi.

Xavier "Xavi" Hernández came through La Masia, the Barcelona youth academy, and made his first-team debut in 1998. Since then he has played 697 matches, scored 78 goals and made more than 180 assists for over 50 players.
Xavi's abilities on the football pitch have led his teams to numerous titles and placed him among the most decorated footballers of all time. He is the first player in Barcelona's history to play 150 international matches and was an integral part of the sextuple-winning Barcelona side in 2009, the only time which a club has achieved six titles in a year.

The claim that Xavi is one of the best midfielders of his generation and perhaps all time relies largely on his ability to find and exploit space. As he said: "That's what I do: look for spaces. All day. I'm always looking". Xavi's abnormally good vision, pinpoint accurate passing and world class ball control allow him to dictate the flow of play whilst rarely relinquishing possession. His ability to completely control some matches has earned him the sobriquet, "The Puppet Master".

Benfica 1984.

Benfica had some problems in the early 1980s, but managed to regain its standing as the best team in Portugal within this decade, this time under the guidance of Sven-Göran Eriksson. In two years, 1983 and 84, the club won the Portuguese championship, one Portuguese Cup, and reached the final of the UEFA Cup in 1983 against Anderlecht.
In 1987, Benfica won another domestic double, an achievement done for the ninth time in its history, and reached European Cup finals in 1988 and 90.

Following the completion of improvements to the stadium, the board of Benfica decided to open the third level of the Estádio da Luz, which transformed it into the biggest football stadium in Europe, with a capacity of 120,000 spectators.

Club America - Las Aguilas.

Club America are commonly known as 'Aguilas del America' with reference to the club mascot the eagle, which is flown around their stadium, the impressive Estadio Azteca, at half-time every match.

The Azteca is the largest stadium in Mexico and Latin America, and the second largest football stadium in the world with a capacity of 105,000. It is also the only stadium in history to host two World Cup finals, in 1970 and 1986.

Soviet Union 1963 - No.1 Yashin.

Lev Yashin was a true football revolutionary, who transformed the way people viewed the goalkeepers position.
Kitted out in all-black, Yashin was christened the "Black Spider" and foiled an estimated 150 penalty attempts during an illustrious 22-year career.
In 1963 he became the only goalkeeper ever to win the European Footballer of the Year Award. One of his best performances was the FA Centenary match of that year, when he appeared in the ‘Rest of the World XI’ against England at Wembley and made a number of breathtaking and almost unbelievable saves that cemented his status.

Oozing charisma and talent in abundance, Yashin pioneered a new approach to goalkeeping and his legacy lives on through every stopper playing football today; commanding the area, communicating with the defence, punching away clearances and early distribution are commonplace now because of the Soviet Union legend. Yashin was, and remains, in the words of the great Eusebio, "the peerless goalkeeper of the century".

Werder Bremen 1982.

SV Werder Bremen have been a mainstay in the Bundesliga and have been crowned champions on four occasions.
The club dropped out of the Bundesliga for the first and only time in 1981 but to many it was a blessing in disguise as Werder recovered themselves under the direction of newly hired coach Otto Rehhagel, who led the side to a string of successes: Bundesliga runners-up in 1983, 1985 and 1986, champions in 1988 and 1993; twice German cup winners; followed by victory in the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1992.
Rehhagel left the club in June 1995 after this impressive run for a short-lived turn as coach of Bayern Munich.

No.9 - Voller

Völler joined Werder Bremen in 1982, winning his first cap for Germany in the same year. Following a successful five years, in which he became the Bundesliga's top scorer in 1983, foreign clubs became interested in the striker, and in 1987 he was transferred to Roma. The 'flying German' scored 45 goals for the Italian club but scored twice as many in fewer games for Bremen.
