St. Marks (Manchester City) 1880.

Manchester City F.C. was founded as St. Mark's (West Gorton) in 1880. The club was formed with the aim of binding the local community and to combat a form of gang warfare called scuttling that existed during the 1870s. The rector's daughter, Anna Connell, is widely credited as the founder.
The shirts they wore were very distinctive but the reason for the Maltese cross is unknown to this day.
St. Mark's became Ardwick Association Football Club in 1887 and Manchester City in 1894.

  1. Is this jersey still available for purchase and if so: 1) do you ship to USA and 2) where can I purchase it?
