Monaco 1988 - No.10 Hoddle.
1987 marked the end of an era at Tottenham Hotspur as “The King of White Hart Lane” took his unmistakable genius to the south of France.
Enter the tax haven of Monaco, where Hoddle found his managerial soul mate in Arsene Wenger and joined a young George Weah and fellow Englishman Mark Hateley.
Monaco and Hoddle achieved instant success winning the 1987-88 Ligue 1 championship and progressing to the quarter finals of the European Cup the following year. For his effort Hoddle was voted Best Foreign Player in French football.
