With Leeds glory days a distant memory its easy to forget that in the late 60's and early 70's they were the one of the best teams in Europe.
Between 1965 and 1974, Don Revie's United side never finished outside of the top four in England, winning two League Championships, two Uefa Cups, a Cup winners Cup and the FA Cup. In 1975 they reached the final of the European Cup but were defeated 2-0 by Bayern Munich, and signalled the end of the clubs golden period.
In recent years Leeds have slid down divisions but will always have a proud heritage.
Being the city's only professional football team, Leeds United are associated with a large, passionate fan base. Recent online research indicates that they are in the top ten most supported clubs in England.
