Borussia Monchengladbach 1977 - No.6 Bonhof.

In the seventies under coach Hennes Weisweiler the young Borussia side displayed an offensive minded philosophy and powerful play that attracted fans from all over Germany. The team matched Bayern's prior achievement with three consecutive German titles of their own from 1975 to 1977.

And in Europe they were among the elite. M'gladbach lost in the 1977 European Cup final, 3-1 to Liverpool, but also made four appearances in UEFA Cup finals in this period, with wins in 1975 and 1979 against losses in 1973 and 1980.

The club's spectacular run had come to an end with eight trophies to their credit, and although they would continue to be competitive for many years, success would be much harder to come by.

Bari.

Associazione Sportiva Bari statistically are amongst the elite in Southern Italian football and are ranked 17th in the all-time Serie A records.
Curiously Bari held the British football transfer record, when it paid £5.5M for David Platt in 1991. It was the most expensive fee paid by a foreign club for a British player for four years.
One of the most notable achievements in the club's history was in the 1996 season, when their forward Igor Protti became the top scorer in the Serie A with 24 goals.

Juventus 1977 - No.8 Tardelli.

It was third time lucky for Juventus in the 1976/77 Uefa cup competition and it was they, not the Spanish side Athletic Club Bilbao, who claimed a first European trophy.
Juventus travelled to Spain for the final second leg with a single-goal cushion given them by Tardelli, but when Bettega doubled the lead after just seven minutes, they were sitting pretty. Two late goals brought consolation to Bilbao, but the cup was off to Turin, as Juve embarked on a golden period in their history.
